The launch also celebrated Saudi Cricket Arena’s partnership
with Delhi Capitals, one of the leading franchises in the Indian Premier
League. According to the organizers, the new Delhi Capitals Cricket
Academy–Jeddah is the franchise’s first cricket academy in the Gulf Cooperation
Council region.
The academy has been established as part of ongoing efforts to expand cricket in the Kingdom and provide players with access to professional coaching and modern training facilities. The Saudi Cricket Arena features multiple professional-grade cricket pitches, state-of-the-art practice nets and a dedicated Nano Cricket area designed for fast-paced training and matches.
Saudi women’s national cricket team player Najwa Akram attended the inaugural event, highlighting the academy’s commitment to creating opportunities for both male and female cricketers.
Saudi Cricket Arena owner Ibrahim Fahad said the academy had been launched in collaboration with Delhi Capitals and would provide structured training under professional cricket coaches.
“We have opened Saudi Cricket Arena’s first academy in
cooperation with the Delhi Capitals Cricket Academy,” Fahad said. “Professional
coaches are available, and regular cricket training sessions will be organized
for boys and girls. God willing, with the cooperation of the Saudi Cricket
Federation, we also hope to establish our own Saudi cricket club.”
The academy’s training programmes will focus on technical skills, fitness, game awareness, discipline, teamwork and personal development. In addition to coaching sessions, players will have opportunities to take part in organized net-cricket matches and practical training activities.
Registration is currently open for boys and girls, with the
promotional youth programme accepting participants under the age of 18. The
academy offers three training days each week, amounting to 12 sessions per
month. Saudi National Day enrollment offers have also been announced for new
registrations.
Through professional coaching methods and purpose-built
facilities, the academy aims to help participants build their cricketing
abilities, confidence and understanding of the game while creating a pathway
for the next generation of cricketers in Saudi Arabia.
The September event marked the soft opening of the academy,
while Saudi Cricket Arena plans to hold a larger official event in the coming
months.
“This was a soft opening, and we aim to hold the grand
opening soon, with many pleasant surprises for cricket lovers,” the Saudi
Cricket Arena management said.
Speaking about SCA’s future plans, the management added:
“This is the first step in a new journey that we deeply value, and we look
forward to growing and developing it together.”
