Image

Image

Image

America’s Tougher Green Card Rules Reflect a Global Immigration Shift

Image
By Dr. Sameera Aziz The United States has announced another major shift in its immigration framework, signaling a return to stricter enforcement of long-standing immigration principles under updated guidance issued by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). Under the revised policy, many foreign nationals residing in the United States on temporary visas will generally be required to return to their home countries and complete Green Card procedures through U.S. embassies or consulates there, except in extraordinary circumstances. While the move has generated concern among immigrant communities, international students, and temporary workers, the policy should also be viewed within a broader global trend toward tighter immigration management, stronger border oversight, and increased scrutiny of residency systems. Across the world, governments are increasingly attempting to balance economic priorities, labor market protection, national security concerns, and public...

The Sweetest Bird That Teaches the Harshest Lesson About Human Nature

Image
(Courtesy Photo)    By Dr. Sameera Aziz Since childhood, we have grown up hearing romantic songs praising the sweet voice of the cuckoo bird. Its melody feels peaceful, innocent, and beautiful. Poets compared it to love. Writers associated it with spring and happiness. But nature hides a harsh truth behind that beautiful sound. What if I told you that behind this sweet voice lies one of nature’s most cunning survival strategies? The cuckoo is among the world’s most famous “brood parasites” — a bird that often refuses to build its own nest and instead secretly places its eggs inside the nests of other birds. In South Asia, one of its common targets is the “crow”. While every bird spends days and weeks collecting twigs to build a safe home for its young, the cuckoo chooses a different strategy. It watches carefully from a distance, searching for the perfect victim. Then comes the deception. The male cuckoo distracts the crow and pulls it away from the nest...

Tawafa in the Vision 2030 Era

Image
By Dr Sameera Aziz As Saudi Arabia continues its unprecedented expansion and modernization of Hajj services under Vision 2030, Tawafa companies have emerged as one of the most influential pillars in shaping the Kingdom’s global image in serving the Guests of Allah. Hajj, the annual Islamic pilgrimage to Makkah, is one of the largest religious gatherings in the world, while Tawafa companies and Mutawwifs are responsible for guiding and serving pilgrims throughout their spiritual journey. While the Saudi government carries the strategic responsibility of managing the world’s largest annual religious gathering through massive infrastructure projects, advanced transportation networks, crowd-management systems, healthcare facilities, and security operations, the pilgrim’s closest human interaction often begins with the Tawafa sector. From arrival to departure, these companies remain at the frontline of the pilgrim experience, transforming national planning into practical daily s...
